Southeast Valley students attend ICC Middle School Visit Day

Classes may not have been held for students at Iowa Central Community College on Thursday April 6, but the campus was busy with activity as hundreds of young visitors gathered to get a firsthand look into the many careers and fields of study offered by Iowa Central.  

Lehigh City Council approves special meeting

On April 10, the Lehigh City Council set a special meeting to approve the budget for Fiscal Year 2024. The meeting will take place on April 28, at 6 p.m. at the Lehigh City Hall.

The DNR's Air Quality Bureau is hosting a joint Air Quality Executive Order 10 (EO10) stakeholder meeting and Air Quality Client Contact Meeting on Thursday, May 18, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The joint meeting will be held virtually and details will be provided when the final agendas are announced, approximately one week prior to the meeting.

New veterans hunting, fishing licenses available April 12

The new Armed Forces Hunting and Fishing licenses are now available to residents of Iowa who served in the armed forces of the United States on federal active duty. The new annual fishing license, or hunting and fishing combo license, is $5, with a $2 processing fee.

Walleye netting season starts for Iowa DNR fish hatcheries

MORAVIA – The late night, annual walleye collection has begun at Clear Lake, Rathbun Reservoir, and Storm Lake with collection efforts soon to follow at the Iowa Great Lakes.

Crews with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fisheries Bureau will set gillnets at night in traditional areas looking for walleyes that are ready to spawn.

Major restoration effort to improve Black Hawk Lake water quality

DES MOINES – A second and final season of dredging on Black Hawk Lake, located in Sac County, will start this week and is scheduled to end in early June. An additional two to three weeks of site clean-up and contractor demobilization will follow the dredging work.
